Presence and Purpose
At Charney Manor, Charney Bassett
Oxfordshire, UK
Monday 4 May to Friday 8 May
A week of practising presence and amplifying your chi. We’ll sit together in a shared space of presence. We’ll do some chigung. I’ll speak as I do about the way consciousness evolves, how to deal with conflict and reduce stress, about the purpose of our lives, about change and the power of love. You’ll be relieved of past pain and sorrow. You’ll find the energy to move on in your life.
Clive Tempest
“I experience greater stillness and clarity and feel more relaxed. I am called to be more aware of my body and presence and I can sense a cleansing and a shift in stuck areas of my mind and body. I value this greatly.”

Charney Manor
For this year’s Spring Retreat we will visit Charney Manor in the Vale of the White Horse in Oxfordshire. This is a Quaker Conference Centre in three acres of beautiful grounds – a tranquil setting for our gathering. It’s an historic thirteenth century manor in the picturesque and typically Oxfordshire village of Charney Bassett, close to the meandering River Ock. The main meeting room is in the oldest part of the manor and is a place of particular stillness. Accommodation is in simple, comfortable en-suite rooms with single beds. Some are twin rooms. Meals are high-quality, traditional and home-cooked, with vegetarian and vegan options.

Travel
Charney Bassett is within easy reach of the M40 and the M4. It’s in a rural location between Faringdon (A421) and Wantage (A338). The postcode is OX12 0EJ. The Manor is on the eastern edge of the village, next to the church, and is signposted from Main Street. The nearest railway station is at Didcot. Charney Bassett is 12 miles south-west of Oxford. If coming from Heathrow take one of the frequent buses to Oxford and then get a taxi, or if you let us know your plans in advance, and we can coordinate your flight arrival with others travelling to the retreat, we will organise a shared taxi-bus to transfer you there and back.
